Servers: The core of the datacentre

At F E Burman we take the business of uptime very seriously.

We have an extremely robust system architecture in our server farm using Sun Hardware running Solaris 9 configured in fully fault tolerant high availability configuration with no single point of failure.

F E Burman currently hosts over 8 Tera-Bytes (8 Million Megabytes) of data online (instantly available) with over 45 Tera-bytes of storage nearline for its clients. All this data is accessible and can be custom ordered by a secure Internet connection.

All of the online data is fully backed up over the weekend with incremental back ups running twice daily to keep the back ups up to date. This ensures that all data is available for quick recovery if needs arise, and that there are historic snapshots so that old version may be recovered if necessary.

All data backups are stored offsite at F E Burman’s private disaster recovery storage area.
