Case Study: British Medical Journal

The British Medical Association required an efficient means of both storage and access for the advertising material across their 18 titles. Access was required by themselves, their advertisers and their print sites. We designed and created a bespoke system to meet their needs, which has been functioning seamlessly for several years.

The hosted system comprises a simple to use web based interface which enables users to upload, enter metadata, flight check, and organise a large database of thousands of advertisements. They can assign advertisements to issues, and send a complete set of files to a print site at a click of a button. Printers have an individual download site, which they can access to retrieve any files they may wish to re-collect.
The complete database is backed up daily and stored offsite.

F E Burman delivered a complete working system quickly and to exact specification.
